Boom lift beside tall trees before a daytime lighting install

September to February

When it all happens.

Holiday lighting starts long before anyone flips a switch. Here is how the season is planned to run, and the small part you play at each step. Exact dates are confirmed in your quote.

Eight steps, five months

Most of the work happens where you won’t see it. Your job mostly comes down to a request, a walk around the property, and a yes.

  1. Late September – early October

    The calendar opens

It still feels like summer, which is exactly why this is the easy time to start. Install dates are planned to be scheduled in the order requests come in.

    Your part
Send a quote request with the basics: city, property type, and what you picture lit.
    Lloyd’s part
Reviews the request and follows up to set a time to see the property.
  2. October

    A look at the property

Rooflines, trees, outlets, and access points are easier to judge in person than in a photo. If your community has lighting guidelines, this is the moment to bring them up.

    Your part
Share anything that matters: HOA guidelines, board approvals, gate codes, the tree everyone loves.
    Lloyd’s part
Notes what should be lit, how it can be powered, and what the finished look should be.
  3. Mid – late October

    A proposal you can picture

The plan spells out what gets lit and what it costs, so nothing about the scope is left to memory.

    Your part
Review the proposal, ask questions, and approve when it feels right.
    Lloyd’s part
Confirms the scope and holds an installation window.
  4. Late October

    Getting ready

Materials are gathered and planned around the property’s measurements before anyone climbs a ladder.

    Your part
    Nothing, unless plans change.
    Lloyd’s part
Prepares materials for your project and confirms the install date.
  5. Early – mid November

    Installation day

Installation is planned for early and mid November, ahead of the post-Thanksgiving rush. The length of the visit depends on the size of the design.

    Your part
Make sure gates, outlets, and parked cars aren’t in the way.
    Lloyd’s part
Installs the display and checks it in the evening light before calling it done.
  6. Before Thanksgiving

    Lights on

The goal is simple: the entrance glows before the first holiday guests arrive.

    Your part
    Enjoy the drive home.
    Lloyd’s part
Walks you through timers and how to reach Lloyd if something needs attention.
  7. December

    The season, looked after

Santa Ana winds and the occasional rainstorm can knock a strand loose. Coverage for in-season service calls is confirmed in your quote.

    Your part
Let Lloyd know if a section goes dark.
    Lloyd’s part
Schedules a visit for covered issues.
  8. Early January – early February

    Down, packed, done

Takedown is planned for early January through early February. If storage is part of your plan, materials are packed for next season.

    Your part
Pick a takedown date that works.
    Lloyd’s part
Removes the display, tidies up, and handles storage if it was included.
